Ayurveda is globalizing. Panchakarma is a unique and integral part of Ayurveda treatment. The scope of Panchakarma is not only in treatment aspect, but also in prevention of diseases and promotion of health. Panchakarma treatment are being offered at large scale various Government Ayurveda hospitals as well as private sector. Through various treatment centres of Panchakarma are being operated in different places including tourists' hotel where competent professional Panchakarma therapists being unavailable, it seems that the image, aims and objectives and utility of Panchakarma are not conveyed properly. Consequently, the services provided by such Panchakarma health care centres are far below the standard level. On this context, Certificate/Dip. Course in Panchakarma Therapy at university level will be a timely requirement and ultimately a great opportunity to upgrade Panchakarma treatment in the country.
